Right now, children around the world are enduring devastating losses and uncertain futures caused by natural disasters and ongoing conflicts.
From the war in Ukraine to ongoing emergencies in Sudan and Yemen, millions of children’s lives are being turned upside down by destruction, loss and uncertainty. In all emergencies, it is children who suffer first and the most. These crises are destroying access to food, clean water, shelter and healthcare, leaving children and families vulnerable to malnutrition, disease and unsafe living conditions.
"From natural disasters to wars and conflicts, the number of children in desperate need of humanitarian assistance is unprecedented."
Clean Water
In countries experiencing conflict and disaster like Sudan and Haiti, children without clean purified water are at risk of malnutrition and face a heightened risk of catching waterborne diseases such as cholera.
Nutrition
Children in places like Gaza, Yemen, and Papua New Guinea face the threat of malnutrition as the result of disaster, conflict and poverty, which can have lifelong impacts on their physical and cognitive development.
Education
In countries like Ukraine and Syria, ongoing conflicts have disrupted children’s access to education, which can create considerable barriers to employment and leave a lasting impact on their lives.
UNICEF is working around the clock to urgently deliver life-changing supplies and services for every child before, during and after emergencies, including water purification tablets, ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF), and education. With your charitable donation, we can ensure that more children survive and give them hope for the future.
In places like Sudan and Ukraine, conflict is pushing children and families to the brink. Your gift can make a difference.
A devastating number of emergencies are unfolding around the world, pushing families to the brink as they fight for survival. Children and their families are being displaced, often multiple times. Every day, they are facing immense hardship, from losing loved ones to not being able to access essentials like clean water, health care and education. Malnutrition is also on the rise, with millions of children living in conditions that are at high risk of famine in places like Gaza, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen.
In Sudan, a country that has been impacted by a civil war since April 2023, is witnessing a severe increase in malnutrition cases, particularly among children who have been displaced by the conflict. Without treatment, over 700,000 children with severe acute malnutrition are at high risk of not surviving.
Around the world, crises are having a catastrophic impact on children and their families. But you can help us make a difference to their lives. When an emergency strikes, UNICEF is on the ground, working alongside our partners to deliver lifesaving support to children and families, even after the crisis has faded from the headlines. Your charitable donation can help us reach children in desperate need.
